Silver Linings

Silver Linings is a piece commissioned by Macmillan Cancer Support to celebrate World Cancer Day 2024. It uses a new original score by the composer and musician, Keith Acheson, written specially for the Sing for Life Choir (whose singers are all people affected by cancer). The piece was conceived in collaboration with the members of NI Cancer Research Consumer Forum along with several healthcare professionals whose stories and experiences were crystalised by the well-known storyteller Liz Weir (a member of the NICRCF) and the choreographer, Clara Kerr. Clara took her inspiration for the piece from the huge bank of words, phrases and anecdotes that emerged.

Seen Dance Company is thrilled to receive additional support from Macmillan Cancer Support to film Silver Linings, directed by Macy Stewart. Keep your eyes peeled for the film release later this year.

The piece is danced by Hannah Scully, Gerard Headley, Michael McEvoy and Clara Kerr.
